Man in his 70s in critical condition after being hit by car in Fairfield
An elderly man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Melbourne’s north-east.
Emergency Services were called to the scene on Grange Road, Fairfield, about 6.30am.
The man, aged in his 70s, has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life threatening abdominal injuries.
The driver of the car is being treated for shock.
Grange Road is closed in both directions between Separation Street and Heidelberg Road.
Traffic is expected to be impacted throughout the morning.
