Man killed after car hits tree on Bacchus Marsh Road at Anakie

A man has died after his car struck a tree north of Geelong.

Police said the car, which was travelling on Bacchus Marsh Road at Anakie, left the road and struck the tree sometime before 4am on Wednesday.

Police and emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after.

Bacchus Marsh Road was closed as a result of the crash.
