Man killed in fatal smash at Beveridge

A man has been killed in single car crash north of Melbourne.

The smash happened at Beveridge shortly before midnight on Monday.

The driver, a Donnybrook man aged in his 70s, appears to have lost control before rolling and coming to rest on the centre median strip.

He died at the scene.

Police are looking into whether speed was a factor.

The death brings Victoria’s road toll to 61 so far this year.

It was 79 at the same point in 2016.
