Man killed in head-on crash in Victoria’s west

A man has died in a crash in the state’s west this morning.

Police say two vehicles were travelling on the Princes Highway at Lyons, near Portland, when they collided at about 1am.

The driver of one vehicle died at the scene and the male driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

There have been 219 lives lost on Victoria’s roads this year, compared to 196 at the same time last year.
