Man killed on a popular Melbourne beach

Police are investigating a fatal stabbing on a popular Melbourne beach.

Police were called to St Kilda beach just after 7:30pm on Sunday night, following reports of people fighting.

An 18-year-old Tarneit man was found with stab wounds in the vicinity of Pier Road and was taken to hospital where he died.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined.
