DRIVE TIME TIP 

A man has been left with minor injuries after his car was smashed with debris on the Western Freeway over the weekend.

Paolo was in the car, sending 3AW Drive terrifying vision of the moment two metal panels flew off the back of a ute and smashed into his windscreen.

He told Jacqui Felgate both he and his partner were rattled by what took place.

“It was pretty full-on experiencing that accident knowing it could be that much worse,” he said on 3AW.

Head of Road Policing Glenn Weir said the driver of the car who didn’t secure their load properly could face a heavy fine as a result of what happened.
