Man ‘lucky to be alive’ after attack in country town

Nick Payne says he’s lucky to be alive after he was attacked by a group of thugs at Sale after a night out.

Police are investigating.

Mr Payne, 26, told Tom Elliott he was trying to diffuse a situation when he was struck once in the face from behind.

He suffered a dislocated jaw.

“I’m also missing about three or four teeth – they had to pick the broken teeth out of my chin, they’d gone all the way through,” he told Tom Elliott.
