Man on electric scooter smacks into pedestrian on the footpath

A man who was struck by an electric-scooter while on a Richmond footpath says he’s lucky he wasn’t injured.

3AW Drive was sent CCTV of the incident, which happened on Wednesday morning.

Cal told Tom Elliott he was startled, more than anything, but things could have been much different if it was an elderly person or child in his position.

It is illegal for electric scooters to be ridden on footpaths in Victoria, with calls for police to crackdown on the issue as more and more people choose to use electric scooters as modes of transport.
