Man on the run after attempted armed bank hold up in Geelong
A masked man armed with a knife is at large in the Geelong area after an attempted robbery in Moorabool Street this afternoon.
It’s believed the man, who was carrying a knife, entered the Bendigo Bank on the corner of Moorabool and Malop Streets about 2.20pm.
Police say the man threatened staff and demanded cash, but the alarm went off and he fled empty-handed.
Witnesses say the man had his face covered at the time of the incident.
Armed Crime Squad detectives are currently searching the area.
