A driver remains on the run following a hit-run collision in Laverton.

The Holden was spotted being driven at speeds in excess of 150km an hour in a 60km zone around 7.20am.

The car was involved in a collision with another car on the freeway, however it failed to stop and continued driving.

Caller Chris told Kate and Craig he saw the police chase the car on the Princes Freeway.

“There’s a dark colour commodore that’s been pursued by police, going 150-160km an hour,” he said.

Police pursued the car but it continued speeding and left the Princes Freeway at High Street eventually losing control and crashing into a fence.

The driver remains on the run after fleeing the scene on foot.

Police ask anyone with dash cam footage of the vehicle or with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
