Man rescued after falling into a pit at Mernda
Rescue crews have rescued a man trapped in a two-metre deep trench in Melbourne’s outer north.
Emergency services were called to the site in Mernda just after midday.
MFB crews used special equipment there to get him out safely.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, suffered leg, pelvic and shoulder injuries.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
