Man shot dead by police after seven-hour siege in Central Victoria

Police were called to Menzies Drive in Daisy Hill to investigate a report that a man discharged a firearm just before 3pm on Thursday.

Officers attempted to engage with the armed man, before their was a siege for several hours.

The man shot his gun towards police and police returned fire. The man died at the scene.
