Man struck by a train after wrestling with PSOs at Preston
A man is fighting for life after wrestling with PSOs and then being hit by a train at Preston.
The man, aged in his 30s, was seen smoking in a carriage of a train at Preston Railway Station around 9.30pm on Monday night.
When protective services officers spoke with him on the platform, an altercation broke out.
The PSOs wrestled with the man, but he managed to get away.
As he was fleeing on the platform he was hit by the train.
The man was taken to the royal Melbourne hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A police investigation is underway and Professional Standards Command has been notified as per standard procedure.
