Man struck by train, South Morang line suspended

There are major delays for passengers on the South Morang line after a person was hit and killed by a train.

Police say a report will be prepared for the coroner after the incident between Preston and Regent Railway stations.

The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

About 30 replacement buses have been ordered to replace train services between Epping and Bell stations but passengers are being warned of delays of up to an hour.

Metro has asked passengers to consider alternate transport.
