Man suffers serious injuries after machete attack in Melbourne’s inner-east

A man has been slashed with a machete during a pre-arranged meeting to trade Pokemon cards in a Richmond car park.

3AW Breakfast’s Rumour File was told the victim is still recovering from severe injuries that required extensive surgical stitching.

It’s believed the 29-year-old was attacked by another man on the 22nd of August, during a pre-arranged, late night meeting involving a transaction of collectable Pokemon cards in a car park near Lennox Street.

The attacker fled, and the victim was taken to hospital with a slash wound to the face.

Victoria Police say the investigation remains ongoing and detectives have follow-up enquiries to make in relation to the person involved.
