A man has been threatened with an axe while withdrawing cash from an ATM in Southbank.

A man has been accused of trying to steal cash from a Werribee man at a licensed venue in Southbank last month.

The offender swung an axe at the man but missed, and then ran away.

It’s believed the offender was involved a similar incident in Hoppers Crossing, where he was armed with a hammer.
