A one-punch victim has told Tom Elliott his life has been changed forever after permanently losing sight in his right eye following a vicious assault.

The teenager, 19, said he was outside the Royal Melbourne Hotel on February 17 when he was bashed.

“A man approached me and offered me drugs and I said no I’m all right,” he said.

“He followed me into the bathroom and pulled out a metal spike and asked me for my phone and money, to which I said no.

“He punched me in the face, I lost sight immediately in my right eye, it’s highly unlikely that it’ll ever come back

“It’s changed my life forever.”

The man police wish to speak to appears to be 177cm tall, 20 years old, with a medium build and dark coloured curly hair.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, a white ‘Nena & Pasadena’ muscle top and blue jeans with maroon ‘nmd’ runners.
