Man who apprehended gun-wielding man on Jetstar flight promised free flights for life

Avalon Airport CEO Ari Suss has promised the hero who apprehended a man who boarded a plane with a shotgun free flights for life.

Barry Clark sprung into action after he noticed a man – who was dressed as a maintenance worker – carrying a firearm on a Jetstar flight bound for Sydney from Avalon Airport on Thursday afternoon.

Mr Suss says complimentary flights is the least the airport can do following his heroic act.

“I said to Barry that he’s changed the course of history,” he told Heidi Murphy.

“I also said to Barry that he’s got free tickets for life from Avalon Airport. It’s the least we could do.”
