The Stonnington Council has announced they’ll go back to using “Merry Christmas” in their festive signage this year after drawing criticism for using “Make Merry”.

Mark Allen, who previously went off  at the council late last year, says it’s wonderful to hear.

“For some reason they thought it was wrong to say ‘Merry Christmas’ … It takes big people to stand up and admit when it does something wrong,” he told Jacqui Felgate.

Councillor Marcia Griffin, says she’s was embarrassed by the council’s decision to use the “Make Merry” decorations.

“Someone brought it to the media which is such a great way to do things,” she said.
