Marketing expert says AFL at risk of becoming ‘Anti Fun League’

A leading marketing expert says the AFL is at risk of becoming the ‘Anti-Fun-League’ after its decision to tone down in-game entertainment.

Clubs are being forced to power down t-shirt cannons that shoot out prizes, while foam footballs have been banned because they could be used as projectiles.

Players also face a $1000 fine if they kick or handball footballs to children after the match.

Marketing expert Dr Con Stavros told Neil Mitchell it should come down to fans and players using common sense.
