Masked man tries to lure schoolgirl into his car in Melbourne’s outer-east
3AW Mornings has been told a masked man tried to lure a 14-year-old girl to get into his car on her way to school in Mooroolbark this morning.
The man was travelling in a black Holden Commodore with no number plates.
Steve, a friend of the family, later told Neil Mitchell the man was wearing all black with a mask and there was a big dent in the car.
The incident happened at the corner of Diane Crescent and Manchester Road around 9am.
“He tried to get her into the car,” he said.
He said he believed the man tried to coax her into the car.
The teen’s school and police have been informed.
In a statement this afternoon, police say they were called to a report of “suspicious loiter” in Mooroolbark.
Police say the girl was offered a lift by the man, but declined.
Police searched the area but did not locate the man or his car.
