Massive police operation uncovers widespread child pornography ring
A teacher working at a Victorian primary school is among more than a dozen men facing child porn charges following a major police operation.
Victorian and Federal police raided 20 properties across Melbourne last month.
Assistant Commissioner Shane Patton says videos and photos were uncovered depicting the sexual and violent abuse of children aged from newborn to 17.
20 men aged between 19 and 62 have been arrested; 13 have been charged with child porn offences, including a teacher who until now held an administrative role at a Victorian primary school.
Police seized drugs, child sex dolls, fireworks, a samurai sword, and hard drives.
At this stage, there’s no evidence to suggest those arrested physically abused children.
AFP Superintendent Paul Hopkins says the focus now is on identifying the children depicted in the material.
