Opposition Leader Matthew Guy has accused the Andrews Government of allowing toll operator Transurban to set Victoria’s roads policy agenda.

The attack follows the revelation of a $400 million plan to widen sections of the Monash Freeway, turning it into a 10-lane ‘super highway’.

Mr Guy told Neil Mitchell it appears the relationship between the government and Transurban is ‘too cosy for comfort’.

‘I mean, Transurban’s only going to do something if they get a very, very good financial return,’ Mr Guy told Neil Mitchell.

‘I’m very uncomfortable with what appears to be a trend of this government having its roads policy set by a private company.

‘We cannot continue with these thought bubbles.’
