State Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy, will seek Mr Languiller to step down as speaker of the lower house if it is proven he has ripped off the tax payer.

Speaking on 3AW Drive, Mr Guy said if the rationale provided by Mr Languiller was incorrect, he’s position would become untenable.

‘If that can’t be provided, then the house is going to lose confidence in the speaker’ he said.

Mr Guy said the government also needs to reform the rules.

‘The rules are wrong, they need to apply in a very clear and strict way.’ he said.
