Matthew Kreuzer ‘failed medical’ rumours incorrect, says Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure

Rumours surrounding Matthew Kreuzer and ‘failed’ medicals are completely inaccurate, says 3AW’s Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure.

The Carlton big man is being linked with a move away from Ikon Park this off-season, with reported interest from Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs.

It’s also been reported Kreuzer has since undergone medical assessments at those clubs, but McClure said he had spoken to the Blues on Wednesday and those rumours were completely off the mark.

‘Matthew Kreuzer has not had a medical at any club, let alone failed one,’ he said on Sports Today.

‘I’m not sure where these rumours are coming from?

‘It’s incorrect, it’s false, it’s wrong, it’s erroneous.’

But as Gerard Healy pointed out, medicals often left clubs with egg on their face.

‘Given Stevie J failed a medical at Collingwood about 10 years ago and went on to become one of the great players, given Joel Selwood failed a (draft) medical and people got scared off, and Chris Judd also… It’s not a bad thing to fail a medical,’ the Sports Today host said.
