Matthew Lloyd ‘gutted’ by Essendon bans

Matthew Lloyd has told of his sorrow and concern for his former club after Essendon players were banned for the 2016 season.

And he questioned whether Jobe Watson would return to the game.

‘I feel sick in the stomach. I’m just gutted,’ he told Ross and John.

‘(The players’) livelihood, and what they’ve trained and worked hard to do, is gone.

‘Where do these players go now?

‘Cale Hooker has the footy world at his feet, wins his first best and fairest last year, and he can’t play.

‘Watson, 30 years of age, can’t play. Do we ever see Jobe Watson again?

‘There’s just all these questions I’m pondering.’
