MCG ‘ready’ to host two Ashes Tests if needed this summer
MCC boss Stuart Fox says the MCG will be ready, willing and able to host a second Ashes Test this summer, if required.
Western Australia and Queensland remain shut off to the outside world, with speculation mounting the states may not be able to host the cricket due to quarantine complications.
Fox told 3AW the MCG had got on the front foot and would prepare two pitches, just in case a second is required.
“We’re ready if we are needed,” he said.
