Medical Association responds to sickening attack
The Victorian president of the Australian Medical Association says it might be worth legislating harsher penalties for those who attack medical staff.
It follows a savage attack outside Box Hill hospital that’s left a man fighting for life.
Tom Elliott asked Dr Lorraine Baker whether she thought tougher penalties were needed.
“Perhaps that’s worthwhile,” she responded.
“Hospitals should be regarded as one of the safest places to be, unfortunately that’s not the case.”
