Melburnians will be allowed to meet another person in public for a picnic, walk or other outdoor social activity from Saturday.

Up to five adults (from two households) may be present if they are ALL fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Daniel Andrews has just announced the changes to restrictions, adding a “sixth” reason to leave home – outdoor social interaction.

The changes come into effect from 11.59pm on Friday.

Victoria has hit its 70 per cent first dose vaccination target.

The five-kilometre travel limit has been extended to 10kms.

You will also be permitted to spend four hours outside exercising, up from the two hours currently allowed under COVID-19 rules.

Private house inspections, by appointment, can resume under strict protocols.

Two people will be able to train outdoors with a personal trainer.

Skate parks can re-open.

Mandatory vaccination for the construction sector will be implemented from next Friday.

The 9pm curfew will remain in place.

The Premier will announce a full plan to re-opening on Sunday.
