Tullamarine is set to be transformed, with plans to bring Melbourne’s culture to life at the airport.

A rooftop bar and restaurant, plus a viewing deck, will replicate those in our famous CBD laneways.

The Herald Sun reports the redeveloped four-storey Terminal 2 will have 30 new shops, restaurants and cafes, and five new airline lounges.

A public swimming pool for travellers to enjoy is part of the proposed upgrade, released at a stakeholder briefing event for the airport’s latest masterplan.

New entry and exit roads are on the cards.

An elevated loop-road network will be created to tackle congestion at pick-up and drop-off points.

Construction on a 464-room hotel will start early next year.
