Melbourne cafe reaches “peak hipster” by letting customers toast their own bread

A hipster cafe in Melbourne’s inner-north has captured Tom Elliott’s attention for letting customers toast their own bread.

Tom was under the impression that customers at Rustica Bakery in Fitzroy had to toast the bread themselves, but owner Brenton Lang said there is a communal table where toasting bread yourself is optional.

“This little scenario’s got blown out of proportion somehow,” Brenton said.

“The toppings are free if you buy the bread.”
