Melbourne cinema invites patrons to take their clothes off

A Melbourne cinema is hosting a session with a very unusual detail — all patrons will be completely naked.

Lido Cinema in Hawthorn is hosting the nude screening of Nude Tuesday on June 26.

Film-goers arrive fully clothed and undress in the cinema.

They must bring a towel to lay over their seat.

“The cinemas are a little bit warmer, the lights are a little bit dimmer, and we make sure people understand the rules which are on the screen prior to the session, and just a level of respect is a reminder as well,” General manager of Lido Cinemas, Cassidy Thomas, told Dee Dee.

“This is our third one and because it’s been so successful we’re thinking about making it a regular event.”
