Melbourne’s reputation as Australia’s home of fine food and dining was vindicated in Sydney last night, with the city taking out awards for restaurant and bar of the year at the National Good Food Guide Awards.

Ripponlea gem Attica claimed the top gong as the Restaurant Of The Year, edging out another Victorian restaurant – Brae.

Adelaide’s Orana, Sydney’s Ormeggio at the Spit and Sixpenny – also in Sydney – were also in the running for the award.

But Melbourne’s success didn’t stop there.

Arlechin, located in the CBD, won Bar Of The Year.

Attica chef Kylie Millar also won the Young Chef of the Year Award.

Ross and John spoke with Roslyn Grundy, co-editor of the Good Food Guide, on Tuesday morning to find out more.
