Melbourne council BANS gifts for childcare workers

A Melbourne council has banned families from giving Christmas presents to workers at council-run childcare centres in a move labelled “political correctness gone mad”.

The City of Yarra has introduced a new policy prohibiting childcare workers from accepting gifts as part of a crackdown on bribes and kickbacks.

Co-founder of Yarra Residents Collective, Adam Promnitz, says it’s “a new low” for the council.
