Melbourne Cup Day snow forecast in parts of the state

November is expected to kick off with some icy weather, with snow expected to fall in parts of the state on Melbourne Cup Day.

Meteorologist at the Bureau of Meteorology, Miriam Bradbury, says the most unseasonable weather is likely to hit tomorrow.

By the end of tomorrow we are expecting to see the snow level dropping down to around 800 metres,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
