Melbourne family left stranded at Launceston Airport

A Melbourne family has spent a sleepless night laying on the baggage carousel at Launceston Airport after their flight was cancelled.

Sonia shared her disappointment with Neil Mitchell on Wednesday.

Sonia, her husband and her two kids arrived for their Jetstar flight to be told at 10.30pm it was cancelled, to grab their luggage and leave.

They couldn’t get a hotel booking at that hour.

“I understand that things happen, but what upset us the most is that they literally dropped us like a stone,” Sonia explained.

She said several other families were stuck in the same situation, saying it would have been awful if there were elderly people stuck, too.
