A young girl from Thomastown has been killed in Iraq.

The 12-year-old was at a popular ice-cream parlour in Baghdad when a car bomb exploded.

17 people were killed in the explosion and at least 32 others were wounded.

Zaynb Al-Harbeya’s family has told Sky News she had been visiting her sick grandfather, with her parents.

She was a year seven student at Sirius College in Broadmeadows.
