Melbourne great-grandma celebrates 80th birthday by going skydiving

Going skydiving for a significant birthday is not that uncommon – but it is when the would-be sky diver is about to turn 80!

Wendy Burgis is celebrating her 80th birthday by taking her maiden sky dive this morning, and she spoke to Ross and John before she jumped.

WENDY: Oh I’m getting very excited now!

ROSS: Are you nervous Wendy?

WENDY: No I’m excited! This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and it’s my birthday tomorrow, my daughters bought it for my birthday.

ROSS: Wendy, it’s my birthday tomorrow too!

WENDY: Is it really?? I bet you’re not 80!

ROSS: No I’m not, and I’m not jumping out of a plane either!!
