Melbourne lagging behind other capitals on CBD office occupancies
Melbourne office occupancies are still lagging behind other state capitals.
Office occupancy rates in Melbourne’s CBD were at just 47 per cent of capacity in February, new data from the Property Council of Australia reveals.
In Sydney, that figure is 61 per cent, while in Perth and Adelaide it’s above 80 per cent.
Victorian executive director of the Property Council, Cath Evans, says it’s a problem.
“Obviously we want to have a vibrant and productive CBD which attracts business to our CBD,” she told Ross and Russel.
