MELBOURNE SHAME: Fresh details on horror night of crime

Victoria Police have confirmed more shocking details on 11 armed robberies that took place across Melbourne on Tuesday evening.

A stolen red Mazda SUV was allegedly used in the crimes, which took place in Officer, Berwick, Cranbourne North, Clyde North, Beaconsfield, Cranbourne West, Cheltenham, Highett and Elsternwick in just five hours.

“What an absolute disgrace,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW Drive.

Jacqui Felgate has fresh reporting on a horror night of crime in Melbourne.

She’s reporting that there were 11 armed robberies in a matter of hours across the city.

“I’ve been working on this (over the afternoon),” she said on 3AW Drive.

“There were 11 armed robberies overnight and one carjacking in five hours, that’s almost one every 27 minutes.

“Welcome to our new normal.”
