Melbourne swelters through hottest March night on record
Melbourne has sweltered through its hottest March night on record.
The Weather Bureau’s Rod Dickson said the mercury hovered around 30 degrees for most of the night.
‘We didn’t actually drop below 30 degrees until just after midnight,’ he said.
‘That’s well and truly smashed the previous march record of 26.9 degrees – recorded in 2008.’
The Bureau has forecast a cool change to sweep through mid to late morning on Wednesday – with temperatures expected to drop by about ten degrees to the mid 20s.
