The Oasis Index is a survey which measures the price of five beers and two packs of cigarettes in different cities across the world.

Its latest data has Melbourne as the most expensive city, with the average cost of five beers and two packs of cigarettes sitting at $US111.

Judo Bank chief economic advisor Warren Hogan told 3AW Breakfast hosts Mark Allen and Russel Howcroft this report is a direct result of government taxes.
