Melbourne Uber driver sacked after racist, homophobic tirade in car

A woman who was subject to a disgusting tirade from an Uber driver says she’s glad he was sacked.

Lucy Thomas and her girlfriend Chelsea Lang were travelling home in Melbourne at the weekend when she began recording on her phone.

The driver became aggressive and used several derogatory terms, such as ‘faggot, abo, spastic and retard’.

He also threatened to ‘drag them out of his car’ once releasing they were a couple.

Ms Thomas told Neil Mitchell she was worried about other potential victims in future.

‘I think it’s the right thing for the safety of other people travelling,’ she said on 3AW Mornings.
