Melbourne’s popularity for landlords plummets in recent survey

Melbourne has gone from the second most popular state capital in the nation for landlords to the second least in the space of six years.

The annual survey by Property Investment Professionals of Australia claims a quarter of Melbourne landlords sold at least one rental home in the past year.

Chair of Property Investors Council of Australia, Ben Kingsley, concedes it will allow more first home buyers into the market but could affect the rental market.
