Melbourne’s worst graffiti hotspots revealed
Bourke Street Mall, Chinatown and Elizabeth Street are the city’s worst hot spots for graffiti vandals, according to a new council report.
Those locations were found to be the highest repeat-offender graffiti areas in the CBD.
The City of Melbourne is in the midst of a graffiti blitz, with 30,000 square metres of graffiti removed since the beginning of March.
Lord mayor Sally Capp says “the biggest deterrent is to clean it as quickly as possible”.
The council has spent more than $1.1 million on graffiti removal this financial year.
