Melburnians hit with power blackouts again after another hot night

Extreme heat has prompted another night of power blackouts across Victoria.
Thousands of homes were left without electricity with the northern suburbs among the worst hit.
Around 7000 homes were left without power last night, 3200 in Coburg alone as the mercury tipped 37 degrees.
Energy company Jemena also recorded black outs in Strathmore, Avondale Heights and Caroline Springs.
United Energy reported outages at more than 1500 properties in Brighton, Aspendale, Sandringham, Bentleigh, Mulgrave and Doveton.
It comes after more than 60,000 homes were left without power late last month after major outages.
