Metro Rail works to impact Flinders Street traffic for next four years
Motorists are being advised to allow extra time on Flinders Street for the next four years.
From this morning, one of the three lanes heading west have been shut down between Russell and Swanston Streets.
Drivers wanting to turn left down St Kilda Road will only have one lane and those travelling to the city’s west, a single lane, to drive ahead.
Drivers are being told to expect delays of 15 minutes.
The closure allows for major works on the new Town Hall station at Federation Square.
The Melbourne Visitor Centre is also being torn down to make way for a giant acoustic shed.
