A 35-year-old Croydon women was taken to hospital following an incident in Bayswater on Monday afternoon.

Caller Brooke told Tom Elliott the car was on its side outside the Melbourne Muscle Gym on Bayswater Road on the north side of the Mountain Hwy.

“There’s a car on its side right out the front of the gym, it’s lucky it didn’t go through the windows,” she said.

“They’re trying to get someone out of the car, there’s firefighters, police, and emergency services there.”

Police believe the 2006 Holden Commodore was travelling on the wrong side of Bayswater Road before it struck the curb and became airborne.

A four-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries while a two-year-old girl was uninjured but taken to hospital for observation.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
