Michelle Payne won’t be riding Melbourne Cup winner Prince Of Penzance this Spring
Last year’s historic Melbourne Cup-winning partnership appears to have met a sour end.
Michelle Payne won’t be riding Prince Of Penzance this Spring.
Payne, who became the first woman to win Australia’s most famous horse race last year, vented her anger on Twitter on Wednesday.
The tweet has since been deleted.
It’s understood the horse’s owners have decided to remove Payne as jockey this Spring.
The horse is expected to attempt a Cup defence in November.
Andrew Bensley from SKY Racing questioned wether or not Payne will come back at ride.
‘She might not come back and ride ever again…’ – Bensley told 3AW’s Sports Today.
