Mick Fanning is in Melbourne promoting his new beer brewery, Balter Brewing.

He came into 3AW studio’s to sit down for a chat with Tom Elliott.

Tom asked Fanning why he decided to take on this new venture.

‘We’re sort of getting to the end of our careers now, we’ve got to look at different ventures’ 

Mick, 35, is taking a year off surfing, Tom asked him if he has plans on returning.

‘At this stage in life, I can’t answer that question, I’ve only had a month off’.

Mick looks forward to waking up and not having to worry about the next competition or event.
